She’s fascinated by storytelling’s power to make us pay attention — to our lives, to the people around us, to the details we usually overlook. Kate loves to see the ordinary cast in a new light, and she’s drawn to stories that explore the complexities of being human and the mysteries of our minds.
A former high school teacher, she earned her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Kate now lives and works in Atlanta, writing stories that are mostly lies but also mostly true.
